Another great episode. I love PropagandaWatch.

The footage shown to us ad nauseam in the days following the 9/11 attacks comes to mind, of Palestinians supposedly celebrating and dancing in joy over the attacks. Later revealed to be completely fraudulent in a Der Spiegel article. (Yes, they just happen to show us repeated video of Israel’s enemies celebrating, lol. Nothing painfully obvious and absurd about that).. One bit of the footage showing men shooting rifles into the air was actually from a funeral the day before. And the clip of the woman making celebratory sounds was actually tracked down and she said she was offered cake to do that.

Propaganda Watch would be more accurately titled Media Watch.

    • Octium says:

Unfortunately here in Terror Australis, the state owned media has already being using the program title “Media Watch” for many decades.

While the format is very similar to the presentation of James series, it is actually in itself one of the most hypocritical forms of propaganda.

Like James, they reveal the absurdities in the commercial mainstream media current affairs programs. Unlike James, they never reveal the man behind the curtain.

Classic case of give a man a fish and he eats for a day. Teach a man to fish and he will eat for life.

The propaganda is aimed at the “Educated” classes who like to make fun of those stupid commoners who watch mainstream current affairs (Or anything other than state TV)

Truth is a lot of the commoners just have the telly on in background while they eat their dinner – they will have forgotten the propaganda five minutes afterwards, where the “Educated” class will take the horseshit they have been brainwashed with to the grave.

    Cheers James, another great episode.

There was that BBC report where they dubbed over the words “chemical attack” in an aftermath interview. They also had, what looked like actors playing zombies. Can’t find it anywhere now. They’ve scrubbed it from YouTube searches. Imagine my surprise.

Yea. The MSM is endlessly absurd and comical when you know what the game is. If you don’t know what the game is, it’s not funny at all.

And in other news, actor Robert Forster has died. I’m bummed about that. He was a good egg. Some time when you all have had a nice dinner or a few drinks or whatever and want to settle in and watch a movie but can’t decide what, look up a film called Diamond Men. A little indie that mostly went under the radar.

This charade reminds me of those reality Cops TV shows that I’ve watched years ago where the police find a bag of drugs on some guy who is obviously strung out on drugs and the guy denies it, acting completely shocked. “I had no idea this bag of heroin was stashed in my underwear. I’ve never seen it before.”

Jeepers! Is that Kentucky?? I thought it was Albania!!

Let’s see… I remember there was the Artctic ocean that wasn’t the Arctic ocean but the Bow river in Mr. Corbett’s home town in that deceptive Disney documentary about suicidal lemmings…

Then there were those fake photos of the fires in the Amazon forest that had been posted on twitter by such media stars as President Macron, Dicaprio, Madonna et al that included a wailing monkey holding its dead baby in its arms that had apparently been killed by the recently raging fires there photographed in India… pretty heart-wrenching actually.

Now I just came upon photos of children in cages at the Mexican border taken during the Obama era and deliberately mis-attributed to Trump on twitter…

besides that, I vaguely remember Mr. Corbett pointing out misattributed photos but my foggy memory is failing me at the moment…

  13. hugo.c says:

    Dear CRC,

My take on information consumption is as follows:

Trust is everything. But, it needs to be earned.

    1. Verify the authenticity of the information you are given. Cross reference etc.. If they don’t provide references or don’t name their sources be immediately suspicious. Be a historian/court: first hand sources are the most reliable (but may be wrong due to influences), second hand are next most reliable (but still potentially flaky), anything else is just speculation/opinion.

    2. When you have found that the author of a number of articles/publications is reliable (by verification) then you have a *person* that you can trust. Never assign trust to a publisher, only to *people*. You must still reassess the reliability, now and then, by verifying even this “trusted” source. Its like election verification; you run random recounts to spot failures.

    3. Whenever imbibing information from media which is not from your trusted authors, treat it as “what they want you to *think* about” rather than “what is *happening*”. i.e treat MSM as thought control process rather than an information source. You can try to correlate across untrusted sources, but the media demonstrably engage in group-think (control). The more hyperbolic/influential the story, the more likely is group-think. For these highly important narratives, it is the *sources* of your trusted authors that matter. Verify them.

    4. Make it easy for yourself to access the publications of the authors you trust (bookmarks, curated homepage, bookshop, as best suits).

    My two (or four) pence.

Granted, the Council of Foreign Relations has always had “operatives” in the big 3 networks of ABC, CBS, and NBC…but I didn’t think they would stoop this low!

It just goes to show how much the Foreign Policy Establishment wants to push these regime change wars in the Middle East for the “Project for a New American Century”.

    Good work as always James!

    Journalists Are Prostitutes
    By Paul Craig Roberts
    at Information Clearing house

Paul craig Roberts gives a translation of a presentation by Udo Ulfkotte

Ulfkotte’s book, Gekaufte Journalisten (Bought Journalism) was a best seller in Germany. An English language edition was authorized, but its publication was blocked by intelligence services.

    excerpt from presentation:

You see, in this way one is in the end bought. One is bought to such a degree that at one point one can’t exit this system anymore.

If I describe how you are supplied with prostitutes, bribed with cars, money; I tried to write down everything I received in gifts, everything I was bribed with. I stopped doing so several years ago, more than a decade ago.

It doesn’t make it any better, but today I regret everything. But I know that it goes this way with many journalists.

It would make me very happy if journalists stood up and said they won’t participate in this any longer, and that they think this is wrong.

But I see no possibility, because media corporations in any case are doing badly. Where should a journalist find work the next day? It isn’t so that tens of thousands of employers are waiting for you. It is the other way round. Tens of thousands of journalists are looking for work or commissions.

That is, from pure desperation one is happy to be bribed. If a newsroom stands behind or not an article that in reality is advertising, doesn’t matter, one goes along. I know some, even respected journalists, who want to leave this system.

  17. cooly says:

One wonders why the propaganda industry doesn’t utilize their allies in the film industry more often, to produce original photos and video clips which cannot be found in archives.
But why go through the trouble, I guess. As with bogus print stories, deceptive use of video footage will have the desired effect on their readers and viewers, most of whom likely won’t be aware of any subsequent debunkings or retractions. That’s why they keep doing it. It works.

    • flammable says:

Filmmakers are not great with live footage. By live footage I mean video recording without any visual or special effects added to it.
All news uses live footage and showing doctored footage using special effects will stand out. No matter how realistic a movie is, it does not look like a real life event seen through our eyes. Movies look like movies basically is what I’m saying.
The best trick is to use clips of real footage and present them in the wrong context as CNN did.
Viewers would know the footage is clearly real and few would take the time to double-check if the clip is from another event.

      • cooly says:

        Hi flammable-

You are right about movies looking like movies and special effects. And the best trick of misusing real footage. I understand that.
But how hard would it be, with adequate funding and some bent photographer or filmmaker, to create something- no doctoring, no special effects?
And what is “live footage”? In my mind, it means turn on a camera and point it at something.
Take that gun range clip for example. They could have easily gone to some remote location with real ordinance, turned on a camera, and started blowing shit up.
Creating some things would obviously be impossible. But many other things, quite possible.

Well that’s my take on it. Thanks for the feedback flammable.

Hi James, you have made me proud to be a Canadian. My comment is not for this thread, but for the confusion around geoengineering. Why are scientist or experts on both sides of the climate change debate denying the existence of geoengineering. I can see why IPCC scientist go along with it, but why are the like’s of Judith Curry, Tim Ball, Lord Monckton, Roy Spencer, Richard Lindzen, John Christy denying chemtrails exist. And even G. Edward Griffin has made a complete u turn on the topic. Griffin does not include geoengineering in his Red Pill expos or in Global warming: An inconvenient lie. Do you believe chemtrails are real and why have you not posted anything since 2016. Same is true with many other Alternative online sites who do not want to touch the subject. What’s going on and why are experts who do not believe in Man made Climate Change going on the record stating that chemtrails in the sky’s do not exist. Dane Wigington and J. Marvin Herndon seem to have taken a solid stance, which I respect. Dane does believe in human caused global warming, which I do not completely accept. Although he does make some good points to what he has observed on the natural ground, which he believes is not only caused by geoengineering, but other man made disturbances. It is hard to get any kind of consistency for the existence of geoengineering from both sides of the climate change story. What is your take.
My gratitude to you and all your much appreciated research.
    Gino from Vancouver Island.

I believe it was former CIA Director Casey that said “We will know we are successful when everything the American people believe is a lie”. The Church Commission exposed the CIA program called “Operation Mocking Bird” whereby established Journalists were hired to write fake News for the Media. The CIA was corrupt and under foreign Zionist control when they staged the Coup in 1963, and they are even more corrupt today. Main Stream Media has become a collaboration of Propaganda Networks that do not deserve our time.

ABC and the entire MSM do so heavily depend on the willfully ignorant who will believe absolutely anything they see and repeat it as fact if it comes from their TV sets. Greta Van Susteren? Even considering her to be concerned about truth or even accuracy for that matter is a huge laugh. She’s as much of a weasel-worder as any talking head — ‘OH! My goodness ABC. Looky, looky, we have just got to stop this ‘ERROR’ making or we’ll lose our credibility!” Honey, thinking people do not give you or them any. Chew on that.

These days I think save us from the talking heads who spend their sad, imprisoned lives promoting outright lies for their overlords’ war regime narrative. When they tell the truth that’s bigger news. We have seen and heard SO many lies for so many decades from them that to believe anything they have to say is kin to believing in the tooth fairy. (Actually, the tooth fairy has credibility. He/she delivers.)

The reason the MSM hates alternative media? Luke at posted a report this week headlining that the Kurds are considering joining Russian and Syria. Haven’t read/seen it yet but here’s the link if you’d like to check it out. (ABC? Gott’a an ERROR to promote for that headline?)
