  1. I remember when the towers were “attacked” the first time. The rationale that the attack was a statement of western aggression struck me as odd, given the target. Then when the 2ed “attack” came, well it took me a while to start questioning it. I’m ashamed to admit that I was swept up in the media fervor and propaganda. But Trump’s glad handing with NATO brass is sadly typical of a politicians shifting allegiances.

This trend of requiring real identies to access sites or register email accounts is just (insert a huge string of bad words). Anonymity on the Internet is something I won’t ever stop perusing. I don’t think the government, or whoever, has any right to people’s identities. Yes, this might allow people to offend others or conduct transactions that aren’t regulated or monitored. But nobody ever said life doesn’t come without risk.

  2. Economy needs to be redefined, it’s one one the most overlooked dogmas today. Taken for granted, assumed it’s going to get better and believing in “leaders'” policies, accepting that one can’t understand its intricacies and as such better left to experts at the whim of their benevolent nature.

Socialism is something everyone of us carries in our ourselves. Taking care of those who are worse off, lending a helping hand in time of need… in a semi functioning, reasonable society socialism is pretty much given. Government abuses this core human tendency and subverts it, hiding theft and redistribution of wealth behind it, while subduing the natural human reflex. Why, I’m paying my taxes, that person rummaging through garbage must be getting something out of it, I better look away and shrivel and die a bit inside in the process.

Only a government can take something beautiful, warm and fuzzy and turn it into a weapon of societal destruction.

    • Excellent expression regarding those topics.

  3. James and James,
Great episode, tho’ I think I (dare I say we?) need a good dose of Good News/ solutions to balance the bad.
Also; that author who would remain nameless; would I be right if I were to suggest that he has written a book titled “Seeds of Destru_tion”?

    • Agreed… lots of bad news. On a note that may not be related but may cheer all of us up. Here’s a video from one of many bands I like with a message that is totally “corbettreport”. So here’s to everyone fighting the good fight, and to both James’… a band named aptly “James”:

      https://youtu.be/WH2hHHPANPY

The message of the song is clear. Keep up your spirits!

      • “Ring The Bells”

        Ring, ring the bells
Wake the town, everyone is sleeping
Shout at the crowd, wake them up
        This anger’s deeper than sleep

Got to keep awake to what’s happening
I can’t see a thing through my ambition
I no longer feel my God is watching over me
Got to tell the world we’ve all been dreaming
This is not the end, a new beginning
I no longer feel my God is watching over me

        Break, break the code
Concentrate, let the doors swing open
See through all your walls, all your floors
Now you’re in deeper than sleep….

Giovanni Ribisi plays Oklahoma “lightening kid” Oswald in this X-Files Episode “D.P.O.” where “Ring The Bells” plays…
        YouTube scene – https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDRVOXtTquQ
A young Jack Black is also in the scene.

  4. This episode of New World Next Week really highlights the fact that a state, a country, is not going to turn things around…no matter who gets into office. The World Order marches on, whether made in China or at the U.N.

And actually the good news is that Trump, like Obama, is well exposed.
Now those both on the Left and the Right who are really awake may realize that a “state solution” is not a solution (except for The Powers That Shouldn’t Be).
I would bet that we will see an increasing trend towards anarchism and agorism / voluntaryism.

    • Hola Howdy Kon’nichiwa PdB,
Well dang! It wouldn’t surprise me to see the next Presidential election contain candidates like Mark Z., Mark Cuban, Trump, Chelsea Clinton, etc..

Here is a sure bet on the winners of the next Presidential Election.
I predict with 100% certainty that the Moron-ica voters will choose these national leaders…

  5. Off topic:

I wrote my 5th Steemit article (I’m not as prolific as JC) and I hope it’s okay to promote it here. I hope it provides something to ponder.

= Is Bitcoin Another Establishment Trap? =
    https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@jasoncarswell/is-bitcoin-another-establishment-trap

Vote or promote only if you mean it. 🙂

Whether I should never do this again, if this was just in poor taste, or if this was informative, I’d like to hear your thoughts before my next article. (I’m averaging 1 every 2 or 3 months.) Also critical feedback is welcome.

    • I do think bitcoin has the potential of being used as a trojan horse of sorts. While the technology has a tremendous potential, it can be hijacked by the opinion makers rather easily.

Not to mention bankers want to go full digital anyway, so bitcoin is paving the ground in their direction no matter how you look at it.

In the end, I think it’s going to boil down to whether or not people will be able to discern between public held blockchain and “government regulated” ones.

  6. A Dangerous Idea
    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2L9RZYguI0Q

I ran accidentally into this video, 20 something minutes well spent. It contains interesting reflections on life, death, morality, religion and authority, wrapped in a science fiction animated setting.

This video complimented well some thoughts I had recently on the fact I can’t be certain about what is real. We could be indeed just a part of simulation, even worse I could be just a figment of imagination of a person being simulated. How does one reach conclusions on the true nature of a system while observing from within?

    • You are right.
It was 20 minutes well spent.
My mental-spiritual juices started to flow.

  7. When elites get in a joust, it’s usually the people who pay the piper, and it’s in the millios of souls.

Hoping to employ the same tactic on a small group of people they have been employing on millions… well IMO a fat chance.
