Since the rise of the internet people have changed from mere audiences into authors and editors. With pieces of technology small enough to fit the whole world into your pocket, a revolution might be on its way. The net is now mightier than the sword. This presentation was delivered at the TEDxGroningen conference in the Netherlands on November 20, 2014.

  1. Beautiful talk Mr. James! Proof right here that you CAN BE very understandable, right?
I have been very worried that ‘they’ will take away the internet as the next 9/11. As I am sure that most people are concerned as well.
I don’t remember you addressing this topic, do you have any thoughts on the likelihood of this?
My little donation will be sent before the end of the year.

Is anybody else interested in setting up a separate fund for James and his family to go and visit his family in Canada next summer? I am good for forty…anybody else? HEY! Even a dollar would help!
That would be a great Christmas present to James, what do YOU think? Can you imagine how much James’ family misses James’ little boy?

  2. Lincolnlea,
For what it is worth, this came in loud and clear for me and I am the one with the bad speakers. Sorry no answers for you, just that I think he uploaded it properly, or same as he usually does. Good luck.

  3. The video has been delisted on youboob tedxyz channel. Yet another gutless censorship method.

  4. This is censored? Don’t investigate for yourself. Don’t think for yourself. Don’t be spreading self empowerment! SMH

  5. I don’t get why this TedX video was unlisted or flagged. It’s too bazaar.

    • I completely agree. The only thing I can imagine, and it’s difficult to imagine, the mention of only five corporations owning all the media, and that it created a bottleneck. If this is what caused their emotional temper tantrum they are getting very weak and frail. Pathetic creatures they are!

  6. Was there any definitive conclusion to the aftermath of MH 17 crash? I’ve listened a Veritas Radio interview show on the MH 370 (and I guess touching on MH 17, too), but the guest is probably a bit ‘out there’.

I must have missed this one at the time (2014 was a while ago). I guess I will have to research the Corbett archives for more info…

    From MH 17 Wikipedia page:
“This was Malaysia Airlines’ second aircraft loss during 2014, after the disappearance of Flight 370 four months prior on 8 March, and is the deadliest airliner shoot-down incident to date…”

  7. Why does James and others get flagged??

“It is the absolute right of the State to supervise the formation of public opinion.”
    – Dr. Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Minister of Propaganda

“When a well-packaged web of lies has been sold gradually to the masses over generations, the truth will seem utterly preposterous and its speaker, a raving lunatic.”
    – Dresden James
    – – – – – – – – – – – – –
“We need a program of psycho surgery and political control of our society. The purpose is physical control of the mind. Everyone who deviates from the given norm can be surgically mutilated…. “Man does not have the right to develop his own mind.

This kind of liberal orientation has great appeal. We must electrically control the brain. Some day armies and generals will be controlled by electrical stimulation of the brain.”

  8. James Corbett does a great job of “telling a story” in 11 minutes.
It grabs attention and interest, and flows so smoothly.

    • I agree, HRS. Although I’d watched this video several years ago and had heard James’ “internet in the apartment” tale several dozen times, the story felt brand new to me. What I especially admired about this telling was his completely natural, though obviously well-rehearsed, delivery. Good pace, emphasis, tone, enunciation. Each gesture he made looked natural, not forced or exaggerated. As perfect as a pro.

Best of all? James spared us such ridiculous-sounding filler words as “So . . .” and “sort of” and “kind of” and “like” and “you know,” all of which are, lamentably, the rage these days. Plus, he pronounced every word the way I learned it from my prim-and-proper New England-educated teachers, who from kindergarten through college drilled into us how to speak grammatically, how to pronounce each word precisely, and how to enunciate clearly, though conversationally–emphasizing and de-emphasizing the right words and syllables and even letters. (For instance, my ears are thankful James says “stu(dnt)” instead of that stupid-sounding, over-the-top “stu-Dent.” Ditto “di(dnt)” and not “di-DENT”!)

All this to say: Because James had no “quirks” in his delivery of this formal speech (not that he ever does in his day-to-day work, either), I was able to fully concentrate on and enjoy his message to the max. And, hey, I can’t be the only one who noticed in this speech the seedlings of his Media Matrix series, which blossomed and bore fruit last year (2022).

      • Damn! That is a great write-up CQ! The descriptions are impressive.

      • CQ, HRS

Yes I must agree with ol’ Tex here, you let your inner ManBearPig out.

I bet you’re an editor at the Denver Post.

  9. I watched the video and I don’t understand what the issue is. I would like to know what clause specifically it contravenes with. No “controversial” topics were discussed.

    • t.crsn, I guess what’s controversial is the entire body of work James has produced over the years. The censors knew it’d be easy for anyone who happened upon his TEDx talk on YouTube to find the bottomless rabbit hole called The Corbett Report.

  10. It’s interesting to hear James’ take on the pre-censorship internet in 2014.

As the technocrats have now partially re-implemented the “thin pipe” through censorship once again, I’d be very interested to hear James record a corollary to this video with his 2023 perspective.

    • Sabex

Its worse then going back to a thin pipe…. old TV was something that only stupid people would sit watching for hours. The internet is the most powerful Time and Attention Predator ever devised….it has swallowed up billions of hours of time people could have been reading, talking, writing, or doing crafts.

Honestly the smartphone letting EVERY ONE get online was a disaster for the human race.

  11. What?? 5 corporations? What do you mean bottleneck? I laughed a little bit wondering what the audience may have been thinking back in 2014. Impeccable delivery good Sir. Well done!!

  12. Very macabre to censor this. Very telling of the fear of information that the globalist central bankers have. And very telling of their ubiquitous tentacles.

  13. Eminent Mr. Corbett

I’ve been in the wild, renewing myself. Fires, air of naught but ashes raining down like snow and smoke drove me away, so here I am.

Excellent!! Nothing better than a “banned” Ted talk. Here’s the gauntlet: It better be as good as Mary Roach’s “Ten Things You Probably Didn’t Know About Sex. ” Not banned , of course.
You’re awesome. I’m already loving it at one minute in. Thank you always.
Remember: All the real people have no money.
This was told to me by a man from Spain who had just been awarded a Master’s Degree from UC Berkeley, in 1980. He had done his Master’s thesis on Iktome, the Lakota Mercury/Coyote figure. He let me read it. I learned so much. I had just returned to the west coast, San Francisco, strangely enough, after working at and attending the Black Hills Survival Gathering in the summer of 1980, with my two children.
Thanks and praise deep from the heart to all of us who share, share, share our love of knowledge and truth, uncompromisingly .

Congratulations! Damn , you’ve raised the bar. A BANNED Ted Talk!! Like Rupert Sheldrake’s “Ten Dogmas of Scientific Materialism. ”
My envy leaks out conspicuously. All praise. What an honor.

  14. How anyone could even consider that presentation as being worthy of any type of restriction just boggles the mind!

  15. Things looked so rosey back then because

    a) Mostly only people with at least average IQ could get on the Net (smartphones are evil)

b)The retarded college age freaks of today were still kids and, presumably, cute and lovable rather then a sad indictment of their parents letting their enemies educate and entertain them.

    c) The attention economy had not yet turned older folks brains into mush

    d) I had not yet realized how many people really do not care what the facts are, only about how they feel. You cant wake up people pretending to be asleep, as Mr Corbett once said.
