Fairy Tales and Children’s Stories – #SolutionsWatch

by | Jun 21, 2022 | Solutions Watch, Videos | 13 comments

In this edition of #SolutionsWatch, James talks to Frode Burdal Klevstul about his new self-published book, Bill Goats and the Forest. We discuss the power of narrative in helping children (and adults) to understand world events in their proper context and we talk about the process of conceptualizing, writing and self-publishing a book.

  1. Thank you James and Frode. An inspiring conversation to listen to and exactly what I needed to hear. I have just ordered a copy of the book to read to my 6 and 9 year old kids.

    • I loved Astrid Lindgren as a child!

  2. Its so nice to put faces with names. Congratulations Frode! And thanks James.

  3. I absolutely enjoyed this conversation. There was a certain atmosphere, aura, wavelength, or whatever the descriptive is, that permeated the conversation.

    Humanity has hope.

  4. Another incredibly inspiring solutions watch episode!! Truly just so beautiful to hear this book’s creation story: the conception, growth and birthing pains. Frode, with his co-creator, are perfect examples of “being the change you want to see in the world” I love to hear accounts of real action, real life stories of creating your own reality! It is motivating to witness the construction of the agora, the parallel structures being built by individuals working in harmony with nature, their own personal nature. I applaud the efforts of all who have the courage and perseverance to turn a thought, a flash of inspiration, into actual being! I hope this type of action becomes highly contagious!

I am very much looking forward to reading and sharing this book!

  5. Creativity, kindness, and artistic expression are important for developing minds and souls. Inspiration and meaning are vital to our species in addition to community building. Creating communities that are desirable to others that set an example of something else that is possible and more enriching makes a lot of sense. People might think “I can build this instead” “this is more rewarding and time better spent”

I haven’t even watched it but the title alone made me think in a creative and positive way. Will take a look soon, even though I don’t have kids of my own. I think it would be cool to have agorist “schools” where kids can learn things from others who might not be their parents. Even though someone doesn’t have kids doesn’t mean they can’t contribute to the new generations.

  6. A great interview James! Thanks very much.
What a brilliant concept, on so many different levels.

    Once, maybe just a coincidence.
Twice, possibly a trend is starting?

Whatever, the more the merrier as far as I’m concerned!

‘How the Prime Minister Stole Freedom’ children’s book published a month ago.
‘Bill Goats and the Forest’ children’s book just published.

  7. Cool, this is going to be a nice gift.

Frode tone of speaking transmits calm and harmony. He expressed himself in such a humane way. Nice interview!

For those curious about the Swedish alternative media there is a website it has been around for a long time:

I think that another interesting place is one of the oldest and biggest forums in Sweden. It’s like the wild west of Swedish discussion on the net:

  8. Thanks Frode for creating this solution for us. I was getting out of ideas to make up stories for my son, because it’s hard to find good stories without “mainstream” propaganda elements. And also thanks James for bringing these kind of solution to our attention.

BTW, Ernest is also talking about changing the format of his show and site into a solution focused platform. We all know the problems by now, let’s work on the solutions. #SolutionsWatch

  9. Absolutely well done again James; as usual. A good narrative for us. Each person must find what he can do for our world and for himself. Even though I had lived with the false narratives all my life, as we all have; I never saw how we could introduce a new, truthful, and real narrative.

  10. Sorry, I am a “tad” late here, but thank you @madhu @SW @Steve Smith @GreaterIsrahell @HomeRemedySupply @Torus @cu.h.j @Fawlty Towers @Facundo Merciadri @Edo and @psfilms!
