The way I took Mr. Corbett’s statement of “leave people alone” was this: To let them organize in ways that some technocratic (dare I say plutocratic) central planners would never think of, i.e. in ways that satisfy their needs. Organizing around a business as employees IS in satisfaction of their needs and if the business is successful it is because it is satisfying the needs of more than a few individuals. This is fundamentally different than being organized by force of government or force of those who have bought and paid for the government. That is the important distinction. Looking at this from only profit and control misses the point. The point is, if you are creating value, and sharing that with employees, then you are creating more value by employment of that person and taking care of their needs. You cannot force them to work for you. It is the interference of government and the use of force to redistribute wealth (governments do not create value) where the problem lies. Obamacare is a great example.

Although I don’t know the Gates personally nor am I familiar with their ultimate goals, I have to disagree with a few things that were brought up in this interview. Bill Gates has Asperger’s syndrome, which as many may know is on the Autism spectrum. His “snaky” reaction to people as mentioned in the interview may only have to do with the fact that he is not physically comfortable around people. That doesn’t mean he wants to cull the working class. And as far as investing in an organic seed bank, if I had money and a wish to actually SAVE humanity, I would invest in the very same thing. Just a thought.
