While not “news” per se, in the spirit of GoodNewsNextWeek, I’d like to suggest the following as a sort of commentary on an ongoing longterm positive phenomenon. Information security expert / Bitcoin evangelist Andreas Antonopoulos is probably already familiar to some in the Corbett Report community. A speaker with an uplifting vision of a truly decentralized future, his presentations can deliver a much-needed morale boost. His recent talks have, I think, been especially good. A sampling:

    Bitcoin: Beyond National Money
Bitcoin: Privacy, Identity, Surveillance, and Money
    Bitcoin Scaling

Undoubtedly the current dramatic rise in Bitcoin price will go a long way towards generating further interest in blockchain technology. Nascent blockchain developments like Ethereum, smart contracts, DAOs appear promising as well.

  2. NES says:

In one year we are sending a commercial flight to the moon after decades, ostensibly, of nothing? When asked why they did not return to the moon NASA reported there was no viable reason to return. Now, in the last two years we have a outer space mining law with a “get out of jail free” clause for the MIC and now a coordinated commercial flight is being sent to the moon in just one year from a corporate source? Does anyone get what has been going on for the last few blacked-out decades or is everyone asleep? NOTHING in the world of space happens without extensive, long-term planning. Yet, the public has been kept occupied by the media watching the shuttle circle the Earth or land at the space station. No moon landings, or so we are led to believe. What are they going to do when they get there-walk around in the moon dust, plant a commercial flag (already there I’d say) and go home? NO.

This release of information is an admission, though indirect, that the MIC has already setup shop on the moon and has been funding their decades long commercial enterprises with our money via unauthorized special access programs (USAPs) through the military. Believe it. If it were not true they wouldn’t need the get out of jail free card written into the mining law. Basically, commercial entities can not be held to answer for actions they many have taken that preceded the mining law. WHAT have they been doing to be in need of such protection? Begin by taking a look at Earth.
