  1. The Greeks did it all long before the rest of civilization got to really humming along. The tyranny that Athens first imposed on others it later imposed on itself. The methods the US-Central bankers impose on the periphery of empire will be imposed throughout the empire.

  2. The military has been using drones to kill people over seas, including Americans. And the military has been donating equipment to police departments around the USA. It seems likely that these parties are just itching to transfer weaponized drones.

Claire, please don’t pepper your sentences with “you know”; it makes you sound like the liars on NPR.

  3. “If you think weaponized unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) are still too new to combat zones for law enforcement to consider them for domestic use, think again,”

“We have been discussing the shotgun and launcher platforms. What we envision is a 12 gauge delivery system with lethal and less-lethal deliveries.”

“…the introduction of this kind of domestic weapon drone internationally underlines that these unmanned aircraft are explicitly being designed for police crowd control.”

“Equipping [drones] with a launcher payload provides an alternative approach to crowd control missions.”

“Some [customers are] mines in South Africa, some security companies in South Africa and outside South Africa, some police units outside South Africa and a number of other industrial customers.”

“For more than ten years [drone manufacturers] have lobbied the European Commission, EU agencies, European regulators and national governments to support their industry, fund their research and development and create a regulatory environment in which ‘civilian’ drones can be sold and used.”

Perhaps the larger drone manufacturers are looking to expand their customer-base beyond the military; to not only police, but to big business (like slave-mines) and private security firms?

  4. Drones and robots being used as police/military are a nightmarish thought. Unfortunately we better start getting used to the idea because it’s coming (or already here) whether we like it or not. And even if by some miracle we’re able to ban them in the US, other countries will almost certainly have them. The threat of armed drones/robots attacking our country is something that could change the balance of power in the world. I’m sure it will be used to control the population as well. This is probably the #1 thing that scares me about the world going forward (at least right now). I think the world will look like a very different (and horrible) place in a few more years when drones and self-driving cars are ubiquitous.
