5 Ridiculous New Year Predictions (Guaranteed To Not Come True!)

01/07/201851 Comments

Happy New Year, everybody!...

...Right? It is going to be a happy new year, right? Regime change operations in Iran and nuclear button talk in North Korea and biometric banking and a million other concerns beside, it is going to be a happy new year, isn't it?

You see, it's just that the last article I read in 2017 was this horrifying treatise on "Everything Amazon’s Alexa learned to do in 2017" and it just seemed so ridiculously à propos to my year-end editorial on technocracy that it was almost hard to get excited for the dawning of 2018.

I mean, really. Everything Alexa "learned to do" in 2017. Learned to do. As if it's a person. A perfect stranger that millions of people are happily inviting into their homes to share in their most private and intimate moments, even though they are fully aware (and fully expect) that the infernal contraption will be sending all that data off to Amazon to be analyzed (and to the NSA to be data mined, of course). It's infuriating.

So I think we could all do with a little levity to begin the year, right? I know I can. And what better way to start things off than by skewering all the ridiculous new year prediction lists that are no doubt clogging your news feed right now (and having a little fun while we're at it)?

So, without further ado, I present five ridiculous new year predictions that I guarantee will not actually happen this year!

    Awesome! This little gem can fit quite nicely into my intensive “communications English” week starting on the 15th focusing on the Media: Science and New Technologies! Thanks Fire for the tried-and-true 6-step PR Spinwriting formula! It will be put to the test in the classroom!
    Gotta love this website!

    “The Corbett Report grows up to match the awakening of the people!”

    Finally, Mr. James Corbett arrives at the conclusion that the demand for his type of journalism / media / knowledge is way above the capabilities of one single individual, and finally decides to start bringing in new volunteers and paid team members to start meeting the demand from his members.

    No more waits for hours to get certain comments approved as moderators are available across the world, and James and few team members are focused 100% on creating topics that in the past were to small and time consuming to address.

    At the same time, Newsbud under the leadership of Siebl wins the “best and most open community” in all the alternative media space – in fact, nothing like a police state 🙂 .

    p.s. Please accept it as jest.

    • VoiceOfArabi says:

      Hello HomeRemedySupply,

      I hope you have had a wonderful new years. If i remember correctly, you said you live in Texas (possible Houston). Is that correct??

      The reason i ask is, i have recently stumbled on a youtube channel hosted by a Dr. Osama Fawzi, an Arab American who runs a newspaper called Arab Times out of Houston, who happens to have the same political understanding as you and I enjoy, enhanced by years of working as journalist and having the contact base to confirm many of the rumors we hear about the middle east. I though i would mention this in case you will find it useful.

      Dr. Osama Fawzi is a proud Texan who is part of the Houston community.

      • HomeRemedySupply says:

        VOA, Thank you so much for the info! I definitely will look into Fawzi!

        I am in the Dallas area (about 4 hours drive northnorthwest from Houston). Derrick Broze (Corbett has interviewed him repeatedly) lives in the Houston area.
        In fact, there are probably many awake people down in that expansive metropolitan area because I have met so many over the years. Even Ron Paul is just to the southwest of Houston.
        (Texas is protected by Chuck Norris who resides west of Houston. https://chuck-norris-jokes.com/ )

        In 2009, Houston hair-products magnate Farouk Shami, originally from Palestine, announced that he was running for Texas Governor.
        He publicly questioned the official 9/11 story.
        In 2010, this was a much more radical political act than it is in 2018.
        A MUST SEE HEROIC PUBLIC STATEMENT by a PalestinianTexan…

      • HomeRemedySupply says:

        I checked out PalestinianTexan Dr. Osama Fawzi and the wonderfully filled ‘freedom of expression’ tabloid, the Arab Times.

        Fawzi has a leg up on things, and this Twitter PHOTO post definitely grabbed my interest with a grin. https://twitter.com/arabtimes_?lang=en

        The guy seems to have a very colorful character. He is based near a gorgeous forest & lake area. I guess he got tired of sand in his teeth.
        YOUTUBE https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJ7SHoSNLGlvmTdNAJxBqbA

        I hear that some countries in the Mideast censor his publication.
        I am not very good at reading scribble and dots backwards, but there are parts of Arab Times which are in English.

        My English vocabulary is going to improve with descriptive adjective content after reading some of these comments in the “Hot Topics” category.
        Yes! Freedom of expression! http://www.arabtimes.com/AAAA/july/150.html
        Examples: ~~“Mules addressed As Stallions” = Jackass Elite person
        ~~~Jordan is the whore of neighborhood, all those screw her are but strangers
        ~~~“…I know the Judges and their prices….Tayseer is a clean one.”
        ~~~“…we Moroccan girls wherever go they pointed us big bitch. This true but not totally true….”
        ~~~(I can’t say dogs, as dogs are precious comparing to such a pig)
        …and I guess some people don’t like Dr. Fawzi…
        ~~~~“…i dont think that its fair to have some suckers to controle a web-site…look sucker!!!!…F U dont stop saying bad stuff about your masters…about this bitch “fawzi”…no one will listen to such a loooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooser….
        This was fun. Thanks again VoiceOfArabi !
        • VoiceOfArabi says:
          Hello HomeRemedySupply,
          Yes… colourful character.. certainly, entertaining.. hugely (if you speak arabic – i nearly have my sides splitting when i listen to him). but most important is he is a guy who reached our age, and does not give a %$£& any more, and he tells it like it is.
          3 Arab intelligence agencies are trying to shut him down and destroy his creative and informative channel. and off course, he is censored in majority of arab world, and can only be accessed via vpn.
          But he has full understanding of all Arab politics and who is pulling the string and how. He is even aware of what “Blackwater” is doing in the arab world, and under whos dollars.
          And as an indirect, he will have a barometer on the Oil price direction due to political expectations.
          He only focuses on the Arab issue currently, which means we get to miss his wisdom on America and Europe.
          Take care my friend.
          • HomeRemedySupply says:
            I hear ya. I am kind of excited because he reaches a huge Arab/Muslim base in America. Because of family ties, this information goes overseas.
            I may send him a letter when time allows.
          • HomeRemedySupply says:
            Update 1/11/2018
            Today I’m mailing the Arab Times a later, along with some 9/11 DVDs and Ae911truth literature. In the letter, I acknowledge that Fawzi probably already is familiar with the U.S. 9/11 Cover-up. My letter also mentions The Corbett Report repeatedly. I gracefully, but emphatically insisted that he view Corbett’s YouTube “How Big Oil Conquered the World”.
            • VoiceOfArabi says:
              Hello HomeRemedySupply,
              That’s wonderful news and I love your energy and drive… That’s what defines Americans in my mind.
              I really hope Dr. Fawzi gets to spend time on Corbett report and other “Global issues” sites. I understand he prefers to focus on “Arab” issues and countries, but Arab countries are part of the world and to understand what is happening in the Arab world, you will need to understand the Global picture… the 35,000 feet view.
      Your comment(s) could help us out with the Dallas Fluoridation Fight
      — Please comment on this recent North Dallas Gazette article…
      …and/or send an email to Dallas City Council Members…
      This past week, we had a “win” for our side with the publication in Black community oriented newspaper, the North Dallas Gazette. Part of our current strategy is more focus surrounding the ethnic and disenfranchised aspects.
      (E.g. See the ethnic focus of the website near the top… http://www.dogsagainstfluoridation.com/ )
      For about 3 months, I have been working to get some local press while Regina and others have been focusing on “Open Record Requests”, networking, a new website “Dallas For Safer Water”, and Council presentations.
      I succeeded with one article a few weeks back, but it was a hit piece in the Dallas Morning Defecation News Wipe.
      This recent Gazette article should help to build momentum.
      Hopefully, it may also spur other local ethnic publications to join in… …For example, we have been in communication with some of these other publications… I mean, Dick Gregory was very good friends with one local Editor.
      In April, 2016, a different reporter for The North Dallas Gazette wrote a wonderful article.
      QUOTE excerpt…
      …In spite of public outcry the Dallas City Council moved forward and voted in favor to add Hydrofluorosilicic Acid (HFS) to the drinking water. Council members were warned of the dangers of HFS, the potential adverse effects it could have on residents as it is highly contaminated with toxins including lead and the fact that African-Americans are at the greatest risk leading with higher lead levels than their White and Hispanic counterparts….
      Sidenote: Dallas is an integrated city in many respects. And to cite an example, the author of this recent Gazette article is a younger, middleclass looking white guy.
      • HomeRemedySupply says:
        Regarding emailing the Dallas City Council and/or commenting on the Fluoride article…
        For real, these are EFFECTIVE “concrete actions to move toward the world we want to see over the coming year”.
        It doesn’t matter where you live in the world. And, in fact, if you chew anarchist bubblegum then you can add extra impingement by “making up a City of Dallas address” on the form.
        It is simple enough…’DuckDuckGo Search’ Dallas apartment complexes or locate one of GW’s cul-de-sac neighbors’ addresses or perhaps use one of Mark Cuban’s mansions.
        These type of actions really do help. We see behavioral changes.
        For example, recently Regina has been doing tons of open records requests with the Water Department. Things then started getting more costly and tougher and more strained just to get simple answers. Also, suddenly she notices that the Water Department had a recent “training firm” update staff on “water fluoridation safety measures”.
        It is kind of humorous to see, like a parent watching a very young child wiggle and waggle some kind of lie.
        Another example, a real classic…
        Councilman Callahan said: “…I’ve received emails from over 200 Dental Organizations, American Medical Society, Scientific Groups….”
        From an “Open Records Request”,it was discovered that Callahan received only 13 pro-fluoride emails, but over 600 anti-fluoridation emails.
        Listen to him here… (3 minutes) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DqsFUZAY3Og&feature=youtu.be
    My prediction:
    People will stop believing their religion is the only correct one and that their religion is the only way to heaven, and religions will cease to exist. Religion will stop being used as a tool to manipulate the masses, and fighting and killing that comes with them will go away forever.
    John Lennon – Imagine
    “Imagine there’s no heaven, it’s easy if you try.
    No hell below us, above us only sky.”
  6. HomeRemedySupply says:
    And again, in tune with Corbett’s article quote…
    …We will either take concrete actions to move toward the world we want to see over the coming year or we will sit on our butts and continue to whine that everything isn’t going our way. The choice is ours to make… …But let’s do a little bit more than just hope this year, hey?
    The Power of Your Intentions (The Rice Experiment)
    In 2005, I and my 18 year old grandson performed this kind of experiment on some plants.
    • mkey says:
      Anyone know who this guy is https://youtu.be/D1sWVjXhKfg?t=10m59s ?
      One terrible thing about TSM is they seldom post any sources.
    • mkey says:
      On more consideration, I have to conclude there are some worrying side stories stemming from that video.
      Firstly, one may not ignore the fact that the conducted procedure isn’t scientific. They went in with the intent to prove something and they “proved” it, in a limited scope and on a small amount of specimens. The sole fact that “love” jar had 2x higher chance to turn out better than the two other jars is enough to warrant scrutiny. The effect of random fungus and bacteria hasn’t been taken into account during this presentation, making it invalid.
      I’m not saying I don’t agree with the general message, about how if you keep pumping shit in the outer world you’re bound to get a bunch of shit back, because I definitively do agree that a positive outlook is essential. Even if this “positive energy” doesn’t have an esoteric effect (something that is not proven that it has, beyond reasonable doubt, with such “experiments”) it will form a vastly different (I’d venture to say better) experience for the observer.
      The other issue is that, even with such people as these two who are obviously very well informed and proactively try to turn stones every day, they can allow themselves to be swayed by their preconceived notions. Most of their viewership on that video, as evidenced by the comments section, fell hook, line and sinker for the same trap, blindly grasping for a blind belief, while completely ignoring their analytical self. Mel at one point even jokes about how people manage to debunk this “phenomena” as it’s easy to debunk but bleh, she believes otherwise so there. Debunking a blind belief is, for all intents and purposes, impossible, as thousands of years of history prove true.
      This goes only to show that old adage about “eternal vigilance” still stands.
      • HomeRemedySupply says:
        mkey, You bring up some valid points.
        And like you said: This goes only to show that old adage about “eternal vigilance” still stands.
        On the flip side…
        Dowsing / Diving Rods for Water or Pipes
        On Corbett’s Twitter, there was a Nov post about “British water utilities admit they use divining rods to find leaks”
        “There’s no scientific evidence that the technique works better than chance.”
        Over the years, I have tested dowsing with approximately 100 random people. Only two people failed to be able to affect the dowsing rods, both of which had compromised skin on their hands. One guy had some kind of chemically burned hands which were cracker dry, and the other had extremely withered-skin dry hands.
        Ha! One time in the 90’s I even grabbed about 10 young elementary students, blindfolded them, and had then walk forward towards a bucket of water. When they approached the bucket, the dowsing rods went into action.
        Here is a short video I made (under 6 minutes) from 10 years ago. The last guy is one of my grandsons. The Texas A&M Commerce Campus is about 2,000 acres with a huge network of underground piping. Many buildings have been also been heated with a water system.
    In a revelation to most, Jake Tapper first admits, yes – he uses his porn name on CNN. Second – that he cannot believe people do not realize that Chris Hedges on RT has more integrity than any reporter who receives $30K/day to read the govt approved teleprompter info. Also, he admits that he cannot spread the truth about US imperialism like comedian Lee Camp if he wants to keep affording his well tailored suits.
    In related news, Brian Williams leaves MSNBC for having sex with US Missiles and is replaced by Eva Bartlett and Vanessa Beeley and the US public finally realizes how they’ve been duped by MSM propaganda. People begin to question if Venezuela might be under economic attack by the US and begin to ponder if the Gehlen network might have been exaggerating about Soviet intentions during the cold war.
    At the beginning of 2018 SugarBorg (known to Germans as ZuckerBorg) announced fixing Facebook is his personal challenge of the year. His employees were prohibited to take holidays and the media started speculations that it must be something big, although no one knew what actually has to be fixed. Also rumors started they have the problem with rapidly declining hive. After a while stock market became nervous, SugarBorg’s stock fall 33,3% .
    Half way to hell SugarBorg decided enough is enough and went public. His hive is having symptoms of Colony Collapse Disorder and accused Monsanto. Soon DOD came out that they have similar problems.
    What happened next was more than surprise. SugarBorg, DOD and IRS filed a class action against Monsanto, with accusation that Monsanto is jeopardizing their business model.
    Chemical and pharmaceutical industry immediately stand behind Monsanto. They realized opponents are formidable and they have no options but to take last line of defense. In secretly sent memo they demanded revocation of class action or else they will sue at Geneva arbitrage court for contravention of Final Solution Contract.
    According to the contract, all parties got its market share in The Enterprise, but SugarBorg insidiously acquired bigger share at the expense of chemical and pharmaceutical industry. That same day Trilateral commissars and Bilderbergers got invitation to urgent meeting near Leverkusen, Germany.
    In White house core of administration got assembled to discus current state of affairs. Hours passed without a hint of solution. Someone, supposedly in charge, said: “It’s bad, it’s really bad. It’s bad, more then at that time I almost got broke. It’s a pity we have no Spanish Inquisition.” Next moment doors crack down and red creatures rushed in. “Who is calling us!”
    Meanwhile, in Pentagon’s situation room, six hundred and so meters below, army intelligentsia was embroiled in discussion and they almost missed a telephone ringing. They switched on speakerphone. “Hello gentlemen (Russian accent). You are all very busy these days. Some extortion in the air. Well, this is ours domain too. So gentlemen will understand that we have to impose some….hmmm…(referring to someone behind)…Volodia what’s the word…yee, yee,…impose some Tax here. You will get details. Soon.”
    Roar spread across the room. Everyone look at general Fib L Mynd who had appearance of a pressure cooker under severe stress. ” No one is fucking with US army!! Send ’em Tomahawk cocktail!!” “to whom?” “To Everyooone!!!!!!!”
    Next day media reported about explosions in many corporations’ headquarters, mostly chemical and pharmaceutical corporations. Also some other facilities of those corporations were hit.
    German media reported that Nobel laureate H.Kissinger is no longer among us. He died in explosion and until then nobody took responsibility for it. He just came to have a dinner with some friends from business and political milieu. Many of them are dead; list is very long, not completed (researchers later found, it was astray tomahawk).
    After these terrible events, that had all characteristics of a terrorist attack, some strange things began to happen. The World became a better place to live. Not just a little, a lot better. It took thousands of researchers some time to solve the puzzle.
    One tomahawk hit Bayer bio-warfare storage facility where thousands of viruses mixed together. By a coincidence Truth-virus, developed for interrogation, hijacked extremely contagious Radical-IS-virus and spread around the World.
    Tsar is naked moment.
    Taste of 2019 New Year’s Eve champagne was delicious.
    Careful reader might ask about Chinese role in events.
    They had some minor role at the beginning, but they very soon got lost in translation.
    In Jim Marrs’ last interview before he died he mentioned that Mars’ Polar ice caps were melting and a google search confirmed it. His point was that the Sun is the major factor in Global temperature so whatever Global warming there is (or isn’t) is due primarily to the Sun’s energy output. There is other information that the Sun is going to undergo a drop in energy output causing a Mini-Ice Age in the next decade or two. The JFK airport area has been less than 29*F since Christmas and NYC has dropped to as low as -2*F. I grew up in Philadelphia and winter temps have never approached 0*F that I remember and a “Bomb Cyclone” was unheard of. So what is it? Global warming, Global cooling or neither?
      And who knows what’s the real influence of man on this ecosystem. The intentional, man made weather being the dominant factor, surely. But still, to what extent.
    ICC issues Shocking Preliminary Report into 17-year old 9/11 Attacks
    #World News December 24, 2018/3:37 PM/Updated 14 minutes ago
    Last August, the International Criminal Courts in conjunction with the UNCCAH (United Nations Council for Crimes Against Humanity) finally yielded to unprecedented international pressure by setting up a joint committee of inquiry into the terrorist attacks that took place in the United States on September 11th, 2001.
    Preliminary findings have been described as ‘highly disturbing’ by investigators suggesting that insider trading that occured immediately prior to the attacks, that took the lives of nearly 3000 people, may in fact constitute evidence of advanced knowledge of the event by key members of the executive and military branches of the American government at the highest levels.
    Moreover, hearings have been scheduled to look into possible irregularities concerning the subsequent recovery and clean-up efforts carried out by the city of New York along with corporate collusion by the owner of the World Trade Center buildings themselves. Allegations of back door mechanisms built into the IT systems serving the most sensitive areas of the U.S. federal administration and defense offices have also been cited.
    Families of the victims killed in the attacks were among the first and most ardent proponents for a reinvestigation into the case but were quickly joined by citizens, journalists, architects, engineers, firefighters and prominent political figures from around the world.
    President Trump has responded by saying that whatever conclusions the committee arrives at that “we must learn to pardon and move on.”
The rites of that war are as ENDLESS as the supply of robo-patsy ISIS (or ????) extremists that can be manufactured among the mind-controlled disaffected everywhere, and then sacrificed ritually in the news, so in the wake of their arrests or immolation in warfare, your little temporary losses of liberty must be ritually re-lost over and over again, too, until we can come up with even better enemies, who, we greatly fear, will require even more severe control of you and yours.
  17. Won Fat Fuk says:
    I predict that Christians will actually start to read the bible.
    (instead of just going to church and letting their preachers read it to them, and interpret it for them.)
    • pearl says:
      Ha! Good one! That’ll be the day.
      Very timely, Won Fat, in light of the recent US headlines featuring a Former Youth Pastor who taught sexual purity classes (now Pastor) performing damage control at his current mega-church where, with head literally hung low and shoulders slumped, he confessed to a “sexual incident” 20 years ago with one of his charges (who publicly outed him after his hypocritical tweets tsk-tsking Matt Lauer’s sins) and got a 20 second standing ovation from the 1000+ congregation for feeling “bad” about it.
    • john.o says:
      I love reading the Bible with pastors. I always start them off with Matthew 7:22-23 to set the tone.
      • pearl says:
        🙂 That and the one about millstones. As for me, however, I now avoid these people and their institutions like the plague.
      • john.o says:
        Yes stay away!!!
        But perhaps I could interest you in attending a Free Church of John Frum service locally?
        (Duly authorized by Bishop John O. of the Traditional Reformed Free Church of John Frum, of course – not one those Russian-duped impostors in Vanuatu! We are very open and above-board. Everyone is welcome! We will all share in the wealth and good feeling when John Frum returns! Until then, we accept fiat, blockchain, precious metals and kinky sexual encounters with attractive deaf mutes of all ages.)
    • pearl says:
      Seriously, I don’t think it’s a stretch to say many protestant christians do read their bibles, but it’s an intellectual disaster at the get-go thanks to orthodoxy where foundational assumptions have everything to do with interpretation and subsequent behavior.
      That’s why I’m always banging my philosophical drum by pointing to such sources as “Ominous Parallels” by Leonard Peikoff and the somewhat similar albeit more expanded examination undertaken by Dr. Tjeerd Andringa who published his findings at “Geopolitics and Cognition” (who I’d have never heard of were it not for reading a brilliant comment by Andringa himself here at The Corbett Report).
  18. Mark44 says:
    Lord knows James wears dozens of hats and covers that many topics and then some in any given year.
    He is concerned about many issues and rightly so.
    I’d like to take a mini-poll in this thread.
    What would be the most important/burning issue you would like to see addressed by the powers that shouldn’t be, this year, but you know will likely never come to pass?
    Are you able to distill just one?
