We Need Two Constitutional Amendments | |

The founding fathers feared that Congress would not get together and take care of business in the United States of America, so a provision was made that Congress was to meet at least once a year. Imagine that. What we have now are hundreds of corrupt Senators and Representatives who are career politicians. This has resulted in thousands upon thousands of so-called laws thrust upon the American people over the years since this country was founded which are unconstitutional. When is the last time you heard your city, county, state or federal politicians use any of these words—Constitution, Bill of Rights or Republic, when referring to governing the masses? What I hear all the time is "democracy." I guess if you tell a lie enough times people really will believe it. This country started going down the tubes the moment it came into existence. This is highlighted by the amount of power the government wields today and if you know what rights you are entitled to and the rights now denied you through unconstitutional legislation, you can't help but be astonished. We've got city, county, state and federal babysitters watching every move we make and deciding what we will be given permission to do or not do with everything from our dogs, real estate and children to our own bodies. This is four layers of government lording over all of us, unless you live outside the city, then you have "only" the county, state and federal government telling you what to do. There is something to be said for living out in the boondocks these days. The next time you hear someone complaining about how Congress "doesn't do anything," just remember, we'd probably be much better off as a people if they didn't. Every time you get a "permit" this means that the government is giving you "permission" to do something. Having the power to give permission also means they have the power to deny permission. Have you ever needed to do something very badly but had to get a permit? I have and it feels very much like asking Mom or Dad permission to go out on a date, there's the gut wrenching sensation of imagining what life will be like if they happen to say no. The co-mingling of the taking of rights with activities that currently require government "permits" is where the problem lies. Some equate all this giving of permission to what they call a "nanny state," which makes rights stealing sound like a minor annoyance. Others simply accept it as something that is for the "good of all." What ever happened to simply punishing the person who breaks a Constitutional law, instead of requiring all of us to "get permission" before we can do something? Obtaining all these permits really boils down to the taking of many of your rights that belong to you simply for being a human being who walks this earth and your power that is rooted in property rights. Each time you get a permit, the permit costs you money. Most of the time you are paying money to exercise a right that already belongs to you and the government has no power grounded in law to issue you this permit. Over the years, the power of the people was usurped. Looking into this, I found that it has been done in many ways. For example, The Federal Register is a gazette that every person needs to at least scan on a daily basis. This information is now online and can be found at this link. Back in the good old days, people read this paper religiously and it is a tell-all regarding many government shenanigans. It's time we started reading it again. The elite run the United States of America with a perverted sense of ethics. Everything they do is available "somewhere" for us to find and read. The problem is that the sheer difficulty in finding this information is a huge stumbling block unless you know exactly where to look. Don't look to public education to make you privy to this type of information. The internet is solving this problem to a great degree, but once you are able to find out where the documents are which tell you what they are planning to do to you and your rights, then comes the task of trying to read millions of pages of documents, interpret broadly worded legalese and then go through the proper channels of raising your voice against them. For example, the GATT document weighs 382 pounds. By making it difficult to find information, writing it in a manner in which makes the average person's head spin, filling pages and pages with fine print written in vague language referencing countless other laws that law amends and no Constitutional references, is it any wonder that government has been able to get so out of control? Couple all this with the sheer number of laws which are passed yearly and the tacking of unrelated legislation to spending bills and the like--do the people really have a serious chance at keeping lawmakers under their will? Over the years, our lawmakers have perfected the arts of paperwork overload, obfuscation and vagueness. Stifling of public debate in any way they can is their trademark. Then we have Presidential Directives and Signing Statements to contend with which are both unconstitutional, but allowed to fly like the buzzards they are. We need two Constitutional Amendments to eviscerate much of their ability to pull the wool over the people's eyes. We desperately need to make it clear to our elected "officials" that they are not to hide legislation inside other legislation in order to pass laws that the people do not want. It can be argued that the people need to be "vigilant" and who would argue with that? However, the price of vigilance these days means every citizen in this country would have to make it their full time job plus overtime to keep track of all that our so-called leaders are up to. Personally, I'd need a staff of at least 1000 Constitutional scholars to even begin to keep up with what they do, did and plan on doing. The Press is supposed to inform us about important legislation, but they are not doing it. It seems they are doing everything they possibly can to cover it up with fluff pieces captivating people's attention in the news instead of reporting on life altering legislation. The act of hiding legislation inside of other bills or tacking it on at the eleventh hour should be halted with an amendment to the Constitution. You can forget either party ever pushing for this amendment, the fact that they can play this type of game with their lawmaking suits them just fine and they like it. The other Constitutional amendment we need is an amendment that forces Congress to reference exactly which part of the Constitution it is that enables them to pass every single law they pass. This would go a long way to helping We The People understand where these lawmakers get the power to make any law. Under this rule, if their Constitutional argument for legislation is weak or incorrect, the people would have a much better chance at understanding they need to raise their voice against it and why. The way things are now, Congress makes the law, the executive enforces it and the courts, many times after our rights have been eviscerated, interpret the Constitutionality of the laws. This amounts to the people having to sue to get their rights back. Ours truly is a great system when functioning properly, but the lack of the requirement for a Constitutional reference for making laws in the first place leaves a huge open pit for corrupt lawmakers to do just about anything they want to do. And they have. Until this pit is filled in, they will continue to do so. What We The People must understand is that our government is corrupted from within and we must do everything we can to reign them in and we must do it now. This will involve the two Constitutional amendments I mentioned above and the repealing of every other law that is unconstitutional. These tasks are monumental in size and scope, but they must be done if we are to keep our Republic. Get to work people, we have a lot to do. |
